01 Lou Yan: Professor Lou Yan, an overseas talent introduced by China Medical University. He is a special-appointed Y2K issue expert by the Canadian government; an early advocate for Internet+ teaching, intelligent medicine, and the application of smart technologies; the initiator of “Medical Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality,” “Big Data Applications,” and “Medical Metaverse” education in domestic universities. He has been awarded the Second National Prize for Teaching Achievements, the Eighth Overseas Chinese Contribution Award, the First Prize for Science and Technology from the China Medical Education Association, and the First Prize for Educational Achievements (twice), as well as the First Prize for Teaching Achievements in Liaoning Province. He has edited 56 college textbooks, holds over 30 patents/software copyrights, and has published more than 60 first-quartile SCI academic papers.

03 Neville N. Osborne: Neville N. Osborne is a distinguished male scholar in the field of ophthalmic neurobiology. He is a biochemical pharmacologist by training and currently serves as a professor of ophthalmic neurobiology at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology, University of Oxford. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in teaching medical students and has published over 500 papers, with an H-index of 66. Osborne has made significant contributions to the understanding of retinal neurodegeneration and has been recognized with numerous awards for his work. He has also held editorial positions for several academic journals, including being the founding editor-in-chief of Neurochemistry International.
04 Jason C. Yam: Jason C. Yam is a prominent male ophthalmologist and academic based in Hong Kong. He is currently a Professor and Head of the Undergraduate Division at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He also serves as the Dean of General Education at Chung Chi College, CUHK, and is the Director of the CUHK Jockey Club Myopia Prevention Programme. He has made significant contributions to the field of ophthalmology, particularly in pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus, and myopia prevention. He is the principal investigator of several major research grants and studies, including the Low-concentration Atropine for Myopia Progression (LAMP) studies, which have provided critical evidence for the use of low-concentration atropine in controlling myopia. His research has been published in over 170 articles in SCI-indexed journals, and he has received numerous awards for his work, including the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology De Ocampo Lecture Award in 2024 and the Nakajima Award in 2019.
05 Jeremy A. Guggenheim: Jeremy A. Guggenheim is a distinguished male professor and researcher in the field of optometry and vision sciences. He was born on January 12, 1967, and is currently a Professor at the School of Optometry & Vision Sciences at Cardiff University in the UK. He received his BSc in Optometry and his PhD from Cardiff University. His research focuses on understanding the genetic and environmental factors contributing to myopia (nearsightedness), and he has led or participated in numerous international collaborative projects, including the Consortium for Refractive Error and Myopia (CREAM) and the UK Biobank Eye and Vision Consortium. He has made significant contributions to the field, with over 195 publications cited by more than 6,870 researchers. He has received prestigious awards such as the ARVO Gold Fellow Award in 2022 and the Biennial Arthur Bennett Prize for Outstanding Research from the College of Optometrists in 2012/2013. He is also actively involved in editorial boards and grant review panels, including serving as an Associate Editor for Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science (IOVS) since 2023.
06 Sharma T: Dr. Rohit Sharma is an accomplished optometrist based in Atlanta, Georgia. He is of Indian ancestry and was born and raised in Kenya until the age of 12, after which his family immigrated to the United States. Dr. Sharma completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, and later earned his Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. During his training, he was actively involved with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity), participating in volunteer missions to Mexico where he examined and treated thousands of patients. He has worked in various optometric practices and has dedicated time to serving underprivileged communities. Dr. Sharma currently practices at the Eye Center of Atlanta, where he continues to provide comprehensive eye care services.
07 Rudy M. M. A. Nuijts: Prof. Dr. Rudy M. M. A. Nuijts is a renowned ophthalmologist and academic based in the Netherlands. Born in 1962, he is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of the Cornea Clinic and the Center for Refractive Surgery at the University Eye Clinic Maastricht, Maastricht University. He completed his medical degree at the Rijksuniversiteit Limburg in Maastricht in 1986 and underwent his ophthalmology training at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. He also completed a cornea research fellowship in the United States and a fellowship in corneal surgery at the Rotterdam Eye Hospital. He is an expert in corneal diseases, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. His research interests include innovations in corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery, with a particular focus on femtosecond laser technology and transscleral drug delivery. He has authored over 180 scientific publications and has given more than 500 invited presentations worldwide.
08 Peter Wiedemann: Peter Wiedemann is a distinguished German ophthalmologist, born on October 23, 1953, in Erlangen, Germany. He is a specialist in medical and surgical retina and served as the head of the Department of Ophthalmology at Leipzig University from 1993 to 2021. Wiedemann completed his medical studies in Bochum, Rennes, Stanford, and Erlangen, and he has made significant contributions to the fields of retinology, pharmacology, and cell and molecular biology. He has held various leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Leipzig University (2003–2006), President of the German Ophthalmological Society (2009), and member of the International Council of Ophthalmology’s Board. Wiedemann has also been involved in major international roles, such as the Scientific Program Chair for the World Ophthalmology Congress. He is a prolific author with over 400 peer-reviewed publications and has co-authored the 5th edition of the standard reference book Retina.
09 Joel S. Schuman: Joel S. Schuman, MD, FACS, is a highly esteemed ophthalmologist and researcher based in the United States. He currently holds the Kenneth L. Roper Endowed Chair and serves as Vice Chair for Research Innovation at Wills Eye Hospital, where he is also Co-Director of the Glaucoma Service. Additionally, he is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. Dr. Schuman has received numerous accolades for his contributions, including the ARVO Translational Research Award (2006), the Carnegie Science Center Award (2012), and the Champalimaud Vision Award (2012). He was elected to the American Ophthalmological Society in 2008 and the American Association of Physicians in 2016. In 2022, he received the USC Keck Roski Eye Institute Laureate Award. His research interests focus on early detection of eye diseases, particularly glaucoma, and the development of novel diagnostic tools. Dr. Schuman's work has significantly advanced the field of ophthalmology and improved the diagnosis and treatment of various eye conditions.
10 Rajvardhan Azad: Rajvardhan Azad, MD, is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist, academician, educator, and researcher from India. He obtained his MBBS and MD in Ophthalmology from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Dr. Azad has over 40 years of experience in the field of eye care and has held several esteemed positions, including Chief and Professor of the Dr. R.P. Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at AIIMS. Dr. Azad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCS), Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), Royal Society of Medicine (FRSM), and International College of Surgeons (FICS). He has published over 200 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored 12 books, and contributed over 60 chapters to books and periodicals. His research interests include pediatric retina, ROP, ocular trauma, retinal detachment surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and the molecular basis of ROP pathogenesis. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious De O'campo Oration by the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) and the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award for Best Medical Teacher in India. Dr. Azad was also elected as the first Indian President of the APAO, a body representing over 50,000 ophthalmologists worldwide.
11 Martine J. Jager: Martine J. Jager is a highly esteemed ophthalmologist and academic, known for her significant contributions to the field of ocular oncology and immunology. She is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, with a particular focus on ocular melanoma. Dr. Jager obtained her MD and PhD from Leiden University, specializing in ophthalmology at the University of Amsterdam and completing a fellowship in cornea and ocular surface diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. She is actively involved in international collaborations and holds several prestigious positions, including Adjunct Scientist at the Schepens Eye Research Institute at Harvard Medical School, and President of the International Society of Ocular Oncology. Dr. Jager has also been recognized with numerous awards, such as the ARVO Gold Fellow Award and the Joanne G. Angle Special Achievement Award. Her research interests include the immunology of ocular tumors, corneal transplantation, and the development of artificial corneas. She has published over 200 papers and supervised numerous PhD students. Dr. Jager is also an active member of various editorial boards and professional societies, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmology on a global scale.
12 William E.Smiddy: Dr. William E. Smiddy is a highly respected ophthalmologist with over 42 years of experience, specializing in retinal disorders, retina/vitreous surgery, and macular disease/degeneration. He is currently a Professor of Ophthalmology and holds the M. Brenn Green Chair in Ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Smiddy graduated from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1983 and completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at The Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He has authored over 340 journal articles, 110 book chapters, and five books, and is an active reviewer for more than 20 academic journals. He is affiliated with the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics and practices at multiple locations in Florida, including Miami, Naples, and Palm Beach Gardens. Dr. Smiddy is also a member of several prestigious professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Macula Society.
13 Lingyun Cheng: Lingyun Cheng, MD, is an internationally acclaimed physician-scientist and an Adjunct Professor at the Shiley Eye Institute, University of California, San Diego. He is also the Director of Ocular Pharmacology at the Jacobs Retina Center. Dr. Cheng graduated from Shanxi Medical University in China and completed his residency at The First Teaching Hospital of Shanxi Medical University. He then pursued vitreoretinal fellowships at Ideta Eye Hospital in Japan and at the University of California, San Diego, followed by postdoctoral training in ocular pharmacology at UC San Diego. Dr. Cheng is dedicated to research in local ocular drug delivery and the pharmacological management of vitreoretinal diseases. His team is developing innovative local ocular drug delivery systems, including a new intraocular crystalline lipid prodrug delivery platform, a porous silicon-based ocular drug delivery system, and a transscleral drug delivery system.

15 Anas Bilal: Aspiring to contribute to a stimulating environment that encourages professional and technical growth, along with the enhancement of managerial capabilities.
