ABSTRACT
With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), its integration into medical education, particularly within orthopedic residency training, has accelerated. This study was designed to explore the application of AI in orthopedic residency education, with a specific focus on its efficacy in teaching knee surgical approaches. An AI-assisted teaching platform, which integrates detailed anatomical structures and procedural steps for knee surgeries, was developed and implemented. The impact of this platform on residents’ learning efficiency, surgical skill acquisition, and procedural safety was subsequently evaluated. The results demonstrate that the AI-based intervention significantly enhances residents’ surgical skills, theoretical knowledge retention, and clinical decision-making capabilities, indicating substantial value for both educational and clinical applications.
